The City of Atlanta Department of Grants and Community Development (DGCD), operates a Section 8 Moderate Rehabilitation (Mod-Rehab) program – a unit-based rental assistance (subsidy) program for low and moderately-low income individuals and families. This is NOT a voucher program. Mod-Rehab assistance is not transferable. Participants will only receive rental assistance while living in a Mod Rehab unit.

Qualifications
The selection and screening of suitable tenants is the responsibility of the property owner. Selection criteria is provided at the time of application submission. Applicants must comply with all instructions given at the property. Screening includes a criminal background check for every adult family member. Additional screening, by the City’s Section 8 staff, will be done according to program criteria (income, citizenship, housing need, etc.). Income limits are available on the City’s Section 8 web page (link below). NOTE: Applicants whose name appears on the Lifetime Sex Offender list or have been arrested or convicted for manufacturing meth are automatically disqualified and ineligible for federal funding.

If approved, an acceptance letter and checklist of items required to complete certification will be sent to the applicant. Certification documents consist of:
