Any City-owned property that is surplus to the City’s needs may be sold upon approval by City Council and the Mayor. With a few exceptions, the Georgia State Code requires that the City sell surplus property via sealed bid or auction. Any such sale will be advertised in the local newspaper with a sign posted on the property indicating the City will be taking bids.
