The Atlanta Police Department (APD) handles all accidents occurring on the streets within the City of Atlanta. APD also handles accident reporting on the interstates within the boundaries of the City of Atlanta from 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM, Monday – Friday, and all day on weekends.

Persons directly involved in the accident have two options for requesting an accident report.

  • All reports produced by APD can be picked up at Central Records within 5-7 business days. The cost for reports generated in person is 10 cents per page, which can be paid in the form of a money order, cash, or a personal check made payable to the City of Atlanta.
